Makin' Music w/ Bill Shontz...
Jay and Bill have decided to combine their vast experience in kids' and families music, and have created a new, dynamic program, entitled...
Take Me to the Water!

Come and rock the boat with Bill and Jay as they take you to the water! Ride the wave of this performance of songs all about that wet stuff: rivers, oceans, rain, and soggy animals..Using their "liquid" voices, their "flowing" instrumentals, and their "ocean" of experience, these two fairly "drip" with humor. They accompany their songs on various instruments, including Bill's array of wind instruments and Jay's calabash water drum and half-filled metal salad bowls, among others. Bill may even have to "wet his (penny) whistle!" If it's a cloudy day, it will still be sunny inside: you may have to partake in the "thunderous" applause that always accompanies this "lightning" paced performance!
As one of the founding members of the acclaimed kids' music duo, "Rosenshontz," Bill has brought his musicianship and playful energy to audiences around the world. Bill has been a member of the Vermont Arts Council Register for the past 30 years. The Vermont Symphony Orchestra is currently honoring Bill by presenting his original "Green Up!" production to audiences around VT. Jay has presented both as a soloist and with the duo "African Rhythms" throughout New England the past 15 years, in performance and as an "Artist-in-Residence." A certified music teacher, he also plays in the quartet, "Jazzberry Jam", a member of the Vermont Arts Council Artist Registry. In addition, Jay is certified to teach music improvisation through the organization "Music for People. "
